Two of our year 12 students are taking their first steps towards fame and fortune with auditions for the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (LIPA) summer school “Get Set”.
Get Set is a three day residential experience, based at LIPA, for those interested in studying performing arts or “making performance possible” courses at university level in 2017. The programme will assist students with making informed decisions about university choices, help build their confidence towards the application and audition process and provide vital experience which students might want to reference on their UCAS form.
Participants will engage in practical workshops within a chosen discipline – Acting, Dance, Singing, Music or Backstage – in order to gain a better understanding of how these subjects are taught at LIPA and help them to understand the process of preparing for an audition/interview within these areas. They will also have the opportunity to sample some of the other degree programmes on offer. In the evening, students will take part in social activities and stay in university halls of residence.
To gain a place students had to submit an application including 250 words on their previous performance experience and a three minute video of them performing. Despite hundreds of applicants, Quirat and Chloe have been successful in gaining places and will be spending some of their summer break treading the boards at this fantastic drama school! Break a leg!
