Academia Magazine

In January 2015, we launched Academia, our Sixth Form magazine. This triannual publication which goes out in January, April & July, is designed as a way for us to communicate with students, current and former, as well as important partners, national and local, about things that are happening in and around the school community.

It’s written, produced and edited by students and gives our creative types a brilliant opportunity to showcase their talents and share all that is good about Accrington Academy Sixth Form. The magazine is an important part of the community because it showcases the amazing opportunities that run within the Sixth Form, and the fantastic work that other students are producing. It is also a great forum for alumni to keep up to date with changes and how each other are getting on post-AA!

With articles about our work with Price Waterhouse Cooper to the Art Exhibition to Apprenticeships, this really is an eclectic magazine with a vast range of articles for everyone.

Every year, a student is appointed as Editor. Past editors have been Hannah Wilson & Mehvish Mansha, Tamsin Hartley & Blake Barrett. For 2016-17, Morgan Shanks has been appointed to the role, something he is very excited to undertake,

If anyone would like to contribute to any upcoming Academia issues, please email them to 6thformenquiries@accrington-academy.org.

Additionally, if businesses or individuals would like to sponsor pages or advertise, please contact the same address to discuss options and pricing.

Academia Editor 2016-17

“I am passionate about the Sixth Form and really believe that #youneverreallyleave. I want to ensure that the 3 issues for which I am responsible showcase everything that is brilliant about the Academy and am keen to widen the authorship of articles. If anyone who is an ex-student, current student or someone with a vested interest in the Sixth Form, wants to contribute on anything from archaeology to zoology and everything in-between, I would love to hear from you”
