Hyndburn sports centre was the venue for the 2 sports hall athletics events which featured Ribble Valley primary schools. The competitions would be year 3&4 and Year 5&6 competitions. The events the children would be competing in was as follows an obstacle relay, 1×1 lap relay, 2×2 lap relay, 4×1 lap relay on the track and in the field they would be competing in a chest push, speed bounce, standing long jump, standing triple jump (5 strides for the year 3&4 event), vertical jump. Teams would be made up of 12 pupils (6 boys and 6 girls) each participant could take part in 2 track and 2 field events.
In the year 3&4 competition held on Thursday 19th November there would be 14 teams looking to win a bronze, silver or gold medal. The 14 schools on the day performed really well and showed some tremendous athletic talent and skill mixed with determination and hard work to succeed. In the overall competition St Leonards Langho where awarded bronze medals while Oakhill won silver with Salesbury taking top spot and the gold medals, other schools finishing positions where as follows :-
- St Leonards Langho
- Clitheroe St James
- Bolton By Bowland
- Brennands Endowed
- Waddington & West Bradford
In the year 5&6 competition there was 18 schools competing to try and win the gold, silver and bronze medals but also a place in the Lancashire Finals to represent Ribble Valley, however within the competition there was a competition for small schools which have less than 100 pupils in school they would compete in the main competition but be scored separately again the winners would represent the Ribble valley in the small schools Lancashire Finals.
Again the skill and talent on show was really strong however St Leonards Langho A claimed gold medals with a massive 348 points while in 2nd place was Salesbury with 340 points while Gisburn finished 3rd with 338 points. In the small schools competition it was Oakhill who won with 164 points, Balderstone finished 2nd with 158 points while Sabden finished 3rd with 150 points, Brennands Endowed finished 4th with 146 points, Grindleton finished 5th with 82 points and Bolton By Bowland finished 6th with 34 points. In the large schools competition the overall finishing places where as follows:-
