My Fair Lady – Drama
“My Fair Lady” tells the story of Eliza Doolittle, who is a poor girl selling flowers on London streets until she meets Henry Higgins, a professor of linguistics. After six months of teaching her to speak “correctly”, Higgins passes Eliza off as a Princess at an Embassy Ball.
The show was a departure from previous years in which we had performed more modern musicals such as “Grease”. It was therefore the greatest test of our students’ talents yet, not least because our students born and bred in Lancashire had to train themselves to talk like Cockneys and upper class Londoners; they rose to the challenge admirably!
