Accrington Academy Sixth Form is pleased to launch its new Pathways Programme for students who will enrol in September 2017. This exciting new venture will see students working with professionals in their chosen fields to give them invaluable advice and guidance to be successful in applying for university courses and achieving meaningful work experiences. There will be opportunities to visit university campuses and attend guest lectures in your chosen field.
Each local school will be invited to send applications for this programme for their chosen career path. It is expected that students will be studying the appropriate GCSE combination for their intended career (including at least Core & Additional Science not BTEC Science for the science-related courses). In addition, students should be expected to gain at least 5 GCSEs at grade 5-9. Applications from schools should be sent to email@example.com
This programme will be launched at a prestigious event on 14th July 2016, where students will be invited to the Academy to have a working day with their professionals and gain valuable insights into the programme and the support they will be offered.
Places will be limited to 20 students for each pathway from all the feeder schools in the area. The professionals from each area will be giving expert information and invaluable insights into their field of expertise.
For those who are successful in their applications for these pathways and choose to come to the Academy Sixth Form, they will be mentored through the course of their two years.
