A beautiful sunny day saw 30 teams from Hyndburn and Ribble Valley compete to become Orienteering Champions. The event was run by Hamish Wills from Pendle Forest Orienteers and involved each pair trying to find as many controls in a twenty minute time period.
The course was challenging and tested the athletes map reading skills to the full but in the end the results were as follows:
1 – Whalley
2 – Gisburn
3 – Mount Pleasant.
Whalley (In blue) will represent the Ribble Valley and Mount Pleasant (red) will represent Hyndburn in the next rounds at the level three school games”
