The Key Stage 1 Ribble Valley Kurling competition took place at St Augustine’s. This proved to be a very popular event with 16 teams turning up to take part. All the children demonstrated the appropriate skills needed to compete against other schools in their area. Within the competition they had to come 1st or 2nd in their group to qualify for the quarter-finals. The teams that made it through to the quarter finals were Read, Brennands, Balderstones & St James. All the children enjoyed the event but these teams were especially excited to make it through to the top 4. Playing for 3rd or 4th place was Brennands and Read, applying the correct techniques needed to win was Read. Therefore Read placed 2nd and Brennands placed 4th. In the final playing for 1st or 2nd place was Balderstones and St James. St James demonstrated great team work and successfully knocked Balderstones of the target to win the competition. Well done St James!!
