We were pleased to welcome former student, Ayva Brown, back to the Academy today to discuss her recent good news! Ayva has been offered a place on a Midwifery degree course at UCLAN to start in September, one of only 22 places from over 1800 applications.
Ayva credits the Academy and the opportunities she was given, specifically in Health & Social Care, as one of the key reasons for being successful in this application, “I had really supportive teachers who helped me find the correct pathway for my dream career as well as giving me opportunities to make it happen! From joining in Year 7, my Director of College, teachers and support staff all helped me along the way. After all, I’ve wanted this since I was 4 years old!”
Ayva was passing the message on to other students as to how we can achieve the things we want if we are fully supported and make it happen rather than watching it happen.
Ben Whitaker, Director of Sixth Form, commented, “This is another brilliant example of an Academy alumnus who is going on to great things. I am very proud of Ayva and was pleased to play a very small part in this huge achievement. Well done Ayva!”
Ayva will be completing her Health & Social Care Extended Diploma with D*D*D* through the Cadet Scheme.
