Taylor Harris once again showed why he is such a valuable asset to the 1st XI Football team by scoring a well-deserved hattrick to round off an exceptional team performance.
Having come off the back of an impressive penalty shoot-out win against Blackpool Sixth Form in the ESFA Cup the previous week, the lads had it all to do against a well-organised and trained Bolton team. They did it with aplomb.
Robb Ashton, manager, commented,
The boys were a credit to themselves, showing grit and determination, and it was especially nice to be able to bring in a few of the lads from the periphery onto the field. Well done to all the lads tonight – a well deserved victory.
Taylor, in only his 3rd game of the season, took his tally to 7 goals with two identical low drives into the left-hand corner and a rather fortuitous spill through the keeper’s hands from a rasping 25yard strike.
Goals from captain, Matthew Ingham (2) and a second in as many games from tricky winger, Mason Hunt, made for a very comfortable, dominating victory.
It was particularly nice to see a debut for Taylor Bickerstaff, Year 11 student, in goal replacing the injured, Josh Field.
You could even say the win was Taylor-made…
