Oakhill once again played host to the Ribble Valley Basketball competition with 11 schools competing to become Ribble Valley champions. These 11 schools were split into 2 groups with the top 2 from each group progressing onto the final.
Group A included Brookside, Oakhill B, Pendle A, Whalley B, Gisburn and Grindleton. Grindleton topped the group with 21 points from their 5 games (26-3, 13-10, 15-3, 18-11) in second place came Whalley B who managed to get 17 points from their 5 games, Gisburn finished 3rd, Brookside finished 4th, Oakhill B finished 5th and Pendle A finished 6th. In Group B Oakhill A and Oakhill C along with Pendle B, Chatburn, Whalley A. Topping the group was Chatburn with 16 points but scoring 25 basket points ahead of Whalley A who also finished on 16 points but scored 23 basket points, third place was Oakhill A, 4th place was Oakhill C and in 5th place was Pendle B.
The semi-finals were Chatburn vs Whalley B and Grindleton vs Whalley A. In the early stage the signs were that it would be an all Whalley final however Grindleton managed to get the win to send them to the final where they played Chatburn. The third and fourth place playoff game was Whalley derby and it was an extremely close game but Whalley A took the bronze medals back to school. The final saw Grindleton and Chatburn go head to head for the Gold and Silver medals but it was Grindleton who for the 2nd year in a row won the Ribble Valley section of the Basketball competition leaving Chatburn to take silver.
