A brilliant effort from our Year 13 Health & Social Care Students who raised £154 for British Heart Foundation through selling samosas, BHF badges and sweets, wearing red items for £1 and a ‘guess the number of sweets in a jar’ competition. As part of their BTEC Extended Diploma course to support Unit 20: Health Promotion, the girls all worked together to plan the event, including advertising and getting permission, and then to undertake it in the main school.
Ben Whitaker, Director of Sixth Form, said,
It was really nice to see our girls being so proactive about such a great cause. It is always important to ensure we go above and beyond, especially for those that need it the most. Hopefully, our small donation will make a small difference for the charity. Well done girls!
