We were honoured to welcome Daniel Raven back to Sixth Form today to work with some of our current Mathematics A-Level students. Daniel completed his A-Levels in Maths, Business Studies and Economics, including two A* grades and is studying Accounting and Finance at Durham University. Having completed his studies for the summer, Daniel decided to come back to the Academy to work with some of our current students, helping them with complex mathematical problems in preparation for their examinations in the coming weeks.
The students and staff were really grateful for Daniel coming back in his own time and of his own volition – he just wanted to give something back. Alec Lindon, Subject Leader for Maths, said, “Daniel was an exceptional student when he studied with us and if he can pass on a small percentage (no pun intended!) of his work ethic and expertise to our current students, they will be in with a great fighting chance of achieving well this summer. To have someone of Daniel’s calibre offering his help is a fantastic asset. Thanks Daniel.”
Robb Ashton, Pastoral Manager for Sixth Form added, “We have a belief that you never really leave AA6th – you are always welcome and part of the family. We love having ex-students back and when they help us in some way, it makes us the hard work worthwhile.”
