Some of our Y12 Economics students have been introduced to United Classroom today, an innovative online way to deliver content from a subject specialist in one school to multiple schools across the country.
Mr Inniss, Economics specialist from Paddington Academy in London, delivered a session about Perfect Competition and our students worked through the process of learning through a virtual classroom. This cutting-edge method allows students to have bespoke and specific learning opportunities through the wonder of the Internet!
It was strange getting used to the system at first but once I got over the initial issues of wearing a headset and everyone being able to see my collaborative answers in Google Docs, it was really good. I could really benefit from this mode of learning.
Dominic Norrish, United Learning Group Director of Technology & e-learning came to Accrington to support the process of setting this up and described United Classroom as,
A way for schools to deliver specialist subjects when there aren’t always enough students wanting to study it.
Here’s to the future of teaching & learning…
