All students within the Academy are attached to one of four colleges and have a College Tutor who they see each day. Tutor groups are mixed with students from Years 7 to 10. Students from older year groups really help younger students develop and succeed. In Year 8 many of our students start GCSEs and other courses.
Our colleges and Tutor Groups allow students to belong to a pastoral family, where students from all ages support one another and participate in a variety of enrichment opportunities. Students will also have a personal tutor who will meet with them regularly to review both academic and personal progress. Each college is managed by a Director of Learning, who is supported by a Pastoral Manager. Each college has seven mixed year form groups and students keep the same form tutor right through to the end of Year 10. From Year 11 students are kept in College Tutor Groups to provide bespoke support and intervention work leading up to the GCSE examinations.
There is regular contact between the Academy and home. Parents/Carers receive full and interim reports in addition to parent consultation evenings.
