Sixth Formers at Accrington Academy are celebrating after receiving their A Level results.
This year has seen a rise in the number of top grades gained by the academy’s Year 13s, with 19% of A Level entries awarded A* or A.
Students are also celebrating some excellent individual successes, including:
- Lawrence Crisp, who achieved AAA in Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology and is going to University College London to study Pharmacology;
- Connor Gregson, who achieved A*AA in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and an A in AS Further Maths. He will be taking up a place at the University of Manchester to study Chemical Engineering;
- Wiktoria Reich, who achieved A*A*AB in Law, Business Studies, Polish and Economics and will be going to the University of Liverpool to study Business Management.
- Marco Maggio, who achieved AAA in Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology and will be going to the University of Manchester to study Pharmacology and Physiology;
Andy O’Brien, Principal of Accrington Academy, said:
We are delighted that the hard work of students has led to a great set of results, of which each of them can be proud. We are pleased to see that the number of students achieving the highest grades continues to rise, allowing students to move confidently onto university, including those in the Russell Group, and the careers they have chosen.
Thank you also to staff who have supported our Sixth Formers through the duration of their studies and continue to set high expectations for all our students at Accrington Academy.
We are all now very excited to welcome new students into our 6th Form from Thursday. For more information, contact the Academy on firstname.lastname@example.org or using @aa6th on Twitter or Instagram
